Weeding Out Misconceptions: 5 Beneficial Weeds Found in Southern Lawns in Spring

As Spring rolls around, the lawns of the Southern United States come alive with a variety of weeds. While some of these weeds may be considered a nuisance by many, there are several that can be highly beneficial for the lawn and the environment. Here are five beneficial weeds commonly found in Southern lawns during Spring:
  • Dandelions - Dandelions are one of the most common weeds found in lawns during Spring. While they may be unsightly to some, they provide numerous benefits to the soil and environment. Dandelions have deep taproots that help to aerate the soil and bring up nutrients from deep within the earth. They are also a valuable source of food for bees and other pollinators, helping to support the local ecosystem.
